Rob Davis, Founder and Chairman Emeritus
Rob is a Managing Director at McAlinden Research. Rob's career focus has been in hedge fund services sales and sales management since 1995 when he joined Montgomery Prime Brokerage Services. As National Sales Manager he played an important role in building what would become Bank of America Prime Services into an industry powerhouse.
Following BofA, Rob joined hedge fund SDS Capital as the Chief Operating Officer. He returned to the prime brokerage business with Merlin Securities, a newly formed prime services company as head of business development, where he again participated in growing a new business into an emerging force. Before joining Montgomery, Rob was an institutional equity salesperson and sales manager covering hedge funds, mutual funds and investment advisors in New York and Boston for firms including Morgan Stanley, Dillon Read and Oppenheimer.
His first job following graduation from SUNY, New Paltz, was teaching elementary school. It was as a teacher that he first witnessed the harmful effects of child abuse. It was an experience which would lead him in late 1998 to conceive of and start Hedge Funds Care, the industry charity dedicated to preventing and treating child abuse. What began as an idea for a single event in NYC is now an international organization with chapters intwelve cities and four countries, which Rob continues to serve as Chairman Emeritus. He will forever be grateful to his many industry colleagues and friends who have joined together over the past fourteen years to donate more than $30 million through 800 plus grants, to save countless children from the trauma of abuse.
Rob is proud to have helped raise five terrific individuals and be grandfather to seven and counting.
